My name is Stephen Waema. My passion for natural resources such as ground water, mining, geothermal, oil & gas pushed me to apply for a scholarship with CEMEREM to pursue Master of Business Administration – Natural resource management. I am persuaded that, with good management, these resources have a huge potential for socio-economic transformation of Kenya and Africa. I am glad that I was considered for the master’s programme. I am already acquiring knowledge and skills for resources management and governance. I am confident I will be able to contribute significantly in management and governance of resources in Kenya, East Africa and beyond. Many thanks to CEMEREM

MWAMKUU CHARI
When I finished my undergraduate training in Commerce, specializing in Marketing, I did not ever imagine working in the natural resources sector. This, however, changed when I joined the mining industry. MBA-NRM became an automatic attraction as a vehicle for promoting effective and objective dialogue with the Mining Professionals.
I am proud to have been part of CEMEREM 2020 beginners, and more proud of our facilitators for conquering COVID 19 limitations to efficiently offer the course online. Additionally, the online learning provided the flexibility I needed to pursue my dreams.
As I approach the last steps of this amazing journey, I appreciate DAAD, CEMEREM and Taita Taveta University, for the opportunity to learn and grow my knowledge and skills on creating business management solutions in natural resource sector.
Thank you

I thank God for always making a way, especially the award of the CEMEREM scholarship. This opportunity is a huge blessing to my career development and my family at large. I am now on my way to achieving my dreams and developing competence in Environmental Engineering dynamics, in one of the best Universities, which is a home of great ideas. The key financial and exposure obstacle to my career growth was addressed largely through the scholarship. Thank you CEMEREMfor this life-changing opportunity.
Due to the restrictions instituted to stop the spread of coronavirus, physical learning at Taita Taveta University has been difficult, however, the University improvised for innovative response through online classes to ensure that learning continues uninterrupted amidst the pandemic. This strategy has been very beneficial and favourable; that is very informative, interactive, and flexible, and not to mention fun. However, there has been a gap regarding online examinations, I hope in the future, the University can improvise for online exams to crown it up with Excellency. Thank you CEMEREM, thank you Taita Taveta University.

The course has allowed me to explore and learn more about the physical world. It has provided me with an opportunity to familiarize myself with the environment and find greater ways of managing and sustaining the environment around me. The units that I have completed so far in semester one have provided me with the skills needed as an Engineer and allow me to expand the knowledge gained from my undergraduate studies. The online learning system and the support that I have received throughout the semester from my sponsors, lecturers, and colleagues has allowed me to stay safe during this pandemic of Covid-19 and make my time while studying for my master’s degree a wonderful experience.
